Misha Angèle x DLP Release "FRIENDS"
Featured in Season 8 of The Chi
Los Angeles - Following the release of her TAPE series, Dutch singer-songwriter Misha Angèle teams up with producer and composer DLP for "FRIENDS", an alternative R&B record recently featured in Season 8 of The Chi.
Built around the question of whether two people should remain friends or risk becoming something more, “FRIENDS” explores the tension that exists in the space between friendship and romance.
"Friends don't kiss like this. Friends don't make me feel like this."
Driven by warm late-night production, intimate vocals, and infectious melodies, the song captures the uncertainty, excitement, and emotional pull of a connection that refuses to stay inside the boundaries of friendship.
Co-written with and produced by Devin “DLP” Parker, whose credits span Netflix, ESPN, FOX Sports, NFL Films, and major film and television campaigns through his company The Future Will Bang, “FRIENDS” blends cinematic storytelling with a modern alternative R&B sound.
The release gained additional momentum after being featured in Season 8 of Showtime's acclaimed drama series The Chi June 19, introducing the song to a broader television audience.
Misha Angèle is a double-platinum songwriter with over 600 million streams and 840,000 album sales worldwide. Known for writing songs including Taeyeon's hit "Weekend," she continues to build a global career spanning K-pop, pop, R&B, and sync.
Together, Misha Angèle and DLP deliver a record that feels both intimate and universal - a soundtrack for anyone who has ever wondered whether friendship was enough.
"Friends" is available on all major streaming platforms.
